Planning your off-grid escape to Glengarry?

Find answers to the most common questions about our cabins, your stay, location, and how your visit supports the Glengarry community.

  • Our cabins are designed to operate independently from mains services, there is no mains electricity in the cabins for example. Instead lighting is provided by solar-powered LED lights and rechargeable lanterns, and each cabin is heated with a cozy wood-burning stove. While fully off-grid, our cabins are equipped with comfortable amenities for a relaxing stay!

  • Each cabin is a thoughtfully furnished retreat, featuring many bespoke touches. Drift off to sleep on a handbuilt wooden bed, easily convertible from a double to two comfortable singles.

Relax and unwind in a comfortable armchair by the warmth of the log burner, the perfect spot to enjoy the forest views through your picture window.

While the cabins are well-spaced for privacy and do not overlook each other, they share a communal firepit area, ideal for evening gatherings.

Each cabin also has its own adjoining compostable toilet and running water. The <amenity building> is separate from the Cabins, it is located down the hill and houses shared kitchen facilities, showers, and offers Wi-Fi access.

  • Part of the off grid experience is getting away from technology. Wi-Fi is not available in the cabins. However mobile signals will be available, depending on your provider and location within Glengarry. We encourage you to embrace the digital detox!

  • Please note that access to the cabins is via a 5 minute walk up a steep forest track. The cabins’ off grid and peaceful location in the forest makes for a special experience, and guests should be prepared to access them by foot. The cabins are not directly adjacent to the communal kitchen, shower block or parking area, which are located at the base of the hill.
