You don't have to venture far to have an incredible experience here. In fact, we recommend doing absolutely nothing at all!
Our off-grid cabins are designed to be a retreat from the noise of modern life. With no distractions, why not take a little time to switch off?
Light the wood-burning stove, make a cup of tea, and settle into one of the armchairs. We are currently curating a small library of books for each cabin, with an extended selection available down at Am Fasgadh. Borrow a book, bring your sketchbook, or simply sit and enjoy the peace and nature around you.
Sometimes, the best adventure is taking the time to slow down.
Wildlife on your doorstep, stars above your head.
Our cabins sit within a regenerating PAWS (Plantation on Ancient Woodland Site) forest, and we share this space with lots of wildlife.
You might be lucky enough to spot Roe and Sika deer moving through the trees, or catch a glimpse of a red squirrel dashing up a tree trunk. We regularly capture footage on our trail cameras of our resident wildlife, and the deer often visit the cabin site when it is quiet. We have a few feeding stations around the clearing to gently encourage the wildlife closer.
It's not just what you can see its also what you can hear as the woodland is also alive with bird song. Why not download a bird identification app (like the RSPB app or Merlin Bird ID) which are great at picking up the different songbirds. Listen out for the buzzard, woodpecker and the little birds such as chaffinch, wren and goldcrest.

To protect the regenerating saplings and ensure the wildlife isn't disturbed, we ask that you enjoy the viewing from the cabin clearing and keep to the paths, rather than wandering deep into the woods.
Stargazing
On a clear night, you can't been looking up at the stars - and perhaps see some bats or hear the hoot of an owl. You can also hear the River Garry, if you listen closely. Star and constellation identifier apps (like Star Walk or Night Sky) are great fun. It is the perfect way to spend an evening before settling in to your cabin for the night.
Local walks and special places.

On Foot: We are located almost directly on the famous Great Glen Way, but for a beautiful walk right from your doorstep, try the River Garry Loop. Cross the road from the cabins and walk through the cemetery (please ensure you close both gates behind you). The far gate opens directly onto the river path. Turn right to walk up to the White Bridge, cross the river, and follow the quiet, single-track Mandally road back towards the village. You can cross the main bridge back into Invergarry and return to the cabins via the pavement, or drop back down onto the river path opposite the Invergarry Hotel to finish exactly where you started! We also highly recommend the Ciste Dubh Trail or the more challenging Allt na Cailliche Trail (which leads to a spectacular waterfall). For a bigger challenge, the striking peak of Ben Tee offers an incredible day out, or try the rewarding trail to Loch Lundie. Please remember that Highland weather can change quickly. Always pack waterproofs, wear appropriate footwear, and check WalkHighlands for accurate route maps, difficulty ratings, and safety advice before setting off.

On the Water & Wild Swimming: The Great Glen Canoe Trail passes right by us. To get out on the water, head to Loch Oich to find the Yak Shack, a new app-based, self-service spot to hire paddleboards and kayaks. While you are there visit the historic Well of the Seven Heads monument. This is also a highly popular spot for wild swimming with its own small pontoon. You will find another fantastic wild swimming spot and pontoon just along the loch at the ruins of Invergarry Castle. Please note: Wild swimming in Highland lochs is undertaken entirely at your own risk. The water is deep and stays incredibly cold year-round. We strongly advise reading the Water Safety Scotland guidelines before taking the plunge.

Relax & Recover: After a long walk or paddle, book a session at the Great Glen Sauna, an fantastic wood-fired sauna located right by the historic Bridge of Oich.

Culture & Sport: If you are visiting during the summer season, head down to Craigard Park, the Shinty pitch beside the Community Hall, where you might catch a game. Glengarry Shinty Club field mens and women's senior teams and have a thriving junior programme. If your stay falls on the first Saturday in July, you are perfectly timed for the annual Glengarry Highland Games which also takes place at Craigard Park.

History & Heritage: Explore the dramatic ruins of Invergarry Castle on the edge of Loch Oich, or step back in time at the Invergarry & Fort Augustus Railway Museum, a fascinating local heritage site dedicated to preserving our local railway history. Just a short drive south, you can discover WWII history at the iconic Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge, and visit the nearby Clan Cameron Museum at Achnacarry. Here you can discover the story of Clan Cameron and find out about Achnacarry's role as a training ground for the original Commando forces.

Conservation & Rewilding: For nature lovers, the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre is just a short drive away in Glenmoriston, offering brilliant insights into the restoration of the Caledonian Forest. Alternatively, head south to the stunning Loch Arkaig Pine Forest. The local community works in partnership with Woodland Trust Scotland, to regenerate a stunning area of Caledonian pinewood.

Glengarry Castle Hotel: Family owned historic building, with fine dining. They offer traditional High Teas (pre-book) which are a wonderful treat. You are welcome to walk round the beautiful grounds which include the ruins of Invergarry Castle.

Invergarry Hotel: A former drover's inn, booking is required for meals.

The Highland Crépe & Coffee Co: A locally owned food trailer found in the Glengarry Community Hall car park, (open during the summer season, please check their social media for exact dates and times as schedule will vary).

Glengarry Community Hall Café: Run by wonderful local volunteers, the café is typically open on Tuesdays during the summer alongside the Glengarry Heritage Centre which is also inside the Hall.

Blazing Pizza: The owner of this mobile pizza van has family connections here and occasionally visits Invergarry, parking opposite the Post Office. If you spot them, book via their Facebook page.
